Congratulations on your new mattress purchase! We know you’re looking forward to getting a good night’s sleep, so we’re sharing some of our top tips for preparing for your mattress delivery. These quick tips can help ensure your delivery goes off without a hitch.
1. Clear the path.
Make sure the path from your door to the bedroom is clear. Move any furniture that may be in the way. Remove picture frames and any other decorations on walls and tables that could be at risk of being bumped or broken.
2. Remove all of the bedding.
Remove the comforter, sheets, mattress protector, and pillows from your old mattress. Now would be a great time to wash them. There’s nothing better than getting into bed with clean sheets, right?
3. Inspect your old mattress and box spring if you’re requesting removal.
If you’ve requested that we remove your old mattress and/or box spring, please inspect them to make sure they are in a sanitary condition. We cannot remove mattresses or box springs that are damaged or stained. This policy not only protects our employees but also the products for other customers that are on our truck.
4. Secure your pets.
Many animals are scared of strangers, so they may react in ways we don’t expect. Others will take the first opportunity of an open door to bolt. Or they can get underfoot and may cause our delivery employees to trip over or step on them. On more than one occasion, our delivery team has left a house only to discover that a customer’s cat has hidden inside an old box spring that we’ve removed from the house. That’s not a fun surprise for our team or your pets! Make sure your furry friends are safe and secure in a cage or spare bedroom.
5. Make sure you have your phone with you and your voicemail box is clear.
Our team will call you the day before delivery to let you know what time to expect our team. We will also call approximately 30 minutes ahead to let you know we’re on our way. If you don’t answer, we will leave a message. But be sure to empty your voicemail box and check any messages. If possible, make sure you have your phone with you so you don’t miss our call.
6. Practice social distancing during the delivery.
For the protection of all of our customers and employees, we ask that you practice social distancing during your delivery. If you’re comfortable doing so, we also encourage you to wear a mask while our delivery team is in your home, in accordance with the CDC recommendations.
Our delivery team will be wearing masks and gloves, practicing social distancing, and implementing enhanced cleaning procedures.
7. Inspect your new products.
When our team sets up your new mattress and box spring, be sure to inspect them to ensure they’re set up to your liking. Is it a height that work for you? While damage or mistakes are exceedingly rare, it’s always a good idea to give everything a good look before our team leaves.
8. Feel free to ask questions.
Before our team leaves, please feel free to ask any questions. For example, if you have a new adjustable base, make sure you understand how all of the features work.
